La Montaña Christian Camps

La Montaña Christian Camps is an evangelistic, high impact adventure camp nestled in the cloud forests of Costa Rica, Central America. Its strategy and vision is to work with teenagers 12-19 years old to win and disciple them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We mix a variety of recreation (ropes courses, climbing walls, ponds, playing fields, an in-line skating rink, etc.) to meet the physical and relational needs of today’s teen. These high-energy times enable us to effectively use the morning and the evening chapel times while employing all the technological tools at our disposal in order to communicate God’s love and plan for the campers’ lives. And the best part is that we work through local Costa Rican churches so that every decision made at camp has the opportunity for follow-up and discipleship!

Throughout the year, we work in a variety of different ways and through a variety of venues to achieve our goal and commission. La Montaña Christian Camps runs a complete program during the entire year. There is rarely a week during the calendar year when we don’t have at least one camp scheduled. Here’s a quick rundown of our year:

• December through January – Summer Camp season
• February through June – Private and Public Schools season
  
• July through August – Winter Camp season
  
• September through November – Church groups and Conference season

We have chosen to open our doors so that youth teams from across the US can come to experience and support this ministry. There are 4 primary reasons for this:

1. The sponsorship of the visiting teams makes a camping experience more affordable to many Costa Rican teens who otherwise would be unable to pay the minimal fees.
   
2. The physical presence of these US teams enables the working of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the Costa Rican campers through the prayer support of the sending churches.
   
3. This youth-based camping ministry opens the eyes of our US young people to the needs and opportunities of overseas missions and to God’s work in other countries. This trip contributes to the Lords molding of our US young people and He accomplishes awesome things in their lives as the result of their overseas missions experiences. In short, we believe in youth missions and the impact that it has on their lives and we want you and your youth teams be a part of that!
   
4. La Montaña Christian Camps is all about reaching young people and we know that we can’t do this alone. We are continually looking for more partnering churches to join us in prayer and support so that we can continue to reach Costa Rican youth with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
