Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stand guard in vain.

Chapel Being Used by Thousands of Campers

Chapel

We have exciting things to report!

  • We just finished a record attendance summer season at La Montaña – 1300 campers in 7 camps with hundreds of those making first-time and rededication commitments for Christ!

  • We finished our new 400-seat “Living Water” chapel and made its debut for the month of January. Tears filled our eyes as hundreds of kids flooded into our new facility to receive a touch from their Savior. We also had our official dedication on February 24th with over 100 people in attendance!

  • We had a record year in 2006 with over 6750 campers and thousands of decisions for Christ!

  • Also we are in the process of construction on our sport’s complex. This new venue will expand our recreation department to include: a large pond with water slides, the blob, the
La Montaña beach, swimming areas, waterfall gardens, the rope swing; a full-size soccer field and baseball diamond; a double sand volleyball court; archery range; mountain-boarding; mountain biking trails; Frisbee golf; a large rec. shed, snack shack, bathroom facilities; and much more! This area is right beside our phase 1 camp and will be accessible by our overpass bridge.

  • We will be looking at some beach properties on the Pacific coast in April for a future Costa Rica surfing camp.

  • We are on the verge of hiring our Timothy Institute director and our Phase 1 Assistant Director

As you know, hell is hot and time is short.
Jeremiah 29:11 states that God’s plans are to prosper and to give hope and a future to His children. We also know that He isn’t done with us (Phil. 1:6), so we will continue to work at all of this with all of our heart, soul and strength (Deut. 10:12). Although the body grows weary, those that wait on Him will constantly be renewed in mind, body and soul (Isaiah 40:30-31). Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world (1 Jn. 4:4). These and other promises are firmly planted in our hearts and motivate us to keep on keeping on.

Exciting? Yes! But we go forward because the One who leads bids us do so. We don’t go out on our own or even on our own strength, for that would be foolishness (Ps. 127:1). However, God gave us each of you. Without you, we would be lacking. Without your prayers, we would lose our way. Without your financial support, we would be distracted. Without your friendship, life would lose its flavor. In a word, we need you and thank God for you. You are our beloved partners in this life-transforming ministry.

“23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for you to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit your very self? 26 If any of you are ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the
holy angels.”

Luke 9:23-26 (TNIV)
